About the role

Help us pioneer the next generation of sustainable 3D-printing materials. At Beyond Bounds, we’re experimenting with PLA reinforced with wood fibers to develop a unique wood-PLA filament for use in our customizable designer lamps. You’ll contribute directly to our R&D process by testing, analyzing, and refining material compositions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct lab-based experiments with PLA + wood fiber composites.
  • Test printability, durability, and finish quality of different formulations.
  • Analyze mechanical properties, nozzle wear, and long-term material stability.
  • Document results and recommend improvements for production readiness.
  • Collaborate with designers and engineers to align material outcomes with product needs.

  • Students in Material Science, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Design Engineering.
  • ⁠Experience with lab work, materials testing, or 3D printing is a plus.
  • ⁠⁠Passion for sustainability, circular design, and innovation.
